The Communist Manifesto
This piece of work has always been a little difficult for me to understand. I’ll probably have to go back and read it again to gain some sort of grasp as to what it means. Also, I keep forgetting what a socialist is. I think it has something to do with noting the separation of classes. But in this piece, the two classes, the working class and the upper, rich class are noted. There really isn’t much way for them to be intertwined because of the way the system has been produced. With the working class, there is a division of labor being done. This division is efficient to get the work done, but people are struggling to be fulfilled with just doing their one, menial task. Workers need more stimulation, a way to do other tasks than just one piece of the puzzle. Marx mentioned some good things about capitalism, such as advances in technology and the division of labor, but I think for the most part he wasn’t too happy with the system. Although I could be wrong. More protection and rights for workers would make capitalism better, perhaps.
